Hadith 12:228
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hafs narrated to us, from Ja’far, from his father, that an ox was plowing in some of the houses of Medina. A man struck it with a sword and mentioned the name of Allah over it. Then ‘Ali was asked about it, and he said: "It is a slaughtered animal, and it is lawful," and he commanded them to eat it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا حفص عن جعفر عن أبيه أن ثورا حرث في بعض دور المدينة [ فضربه ] رجل بالسيف وذكر اسم الله عليه فسئل [ علي ] فقال ذكاة وحية وأمرهم بأكله
