Hadith 12:245
Ibn Abbas was asked about the slaughtered animal of a reed [stalk] when one does not find a knife. He said: "If it is sharpened and cuts the jugular veins like the cutting of a knife, and the name of Allah is mentioned, then eat. And if it does not reach [the requirement of cutting], then do not eat." And I asked him about the slaughtered animal of a flint stone when one does not find a knife. He said: "If it is sharpened and cuts the jugular veins, then eat. And if it does not reach [the requirement], then do not eat."
حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن إسماعيل بن سميع عن أبي ربيع سئل بن عباس عن ذبيحة القصبة إذا لم يجد سكينا فقال إذا برت فقطعت الأوداج كقطع السكين وذكر اسم الله فكل وإذا بلغت بلغا فلا تأكل وسألته عن ذبيحة ا لمروة إذا لم يجد سكينا فقال إذا برت فقطعت الأوداج فكل وإذا بلغا فلا تأكل
