Hadith 12:256
'Abd al-Rahim ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Sha'bi, who said: Everything that is slaughtered with a blade, a flint, a reed, or a piece of wood, provided it severs the jugular veins and causes the blood to flow [is permissible]. And he used to dislike [slaughtering with] a tooth, a bone, and a fingernail.
