Hadith 12:274
Waki’ narrated to us, from ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Siyah, from Abu Rashid al-Sulmani, who said: I was herding the *mana’ih* (milch camels) for my family in the outskirts of Kufa, meaning the *‘ishar* (pregnant camels). He said: A camel fell from among them, and I feared it would die before I could slaughter it. So, I took a piece of iron and stabbed it in its side or its hump, then I cut it into pieces and distributed it among the rest of my family. Then I came to my family, and they refused to eat it when I told them what had happened. So, I went to ‘Ali and stood at the door of his palace and said, "O Commander of the Faithful! O Commander of the Faithful!" He replied, "At your service, at your service." I informed him of the matter, and he said, "Eat, and feed me its hindquarters."
