Hadith 12:284
Ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Abu Shihab Musa ibn Nafi’, from al-Nu’man ibn ‘Ali, who said: Sa’id ibn Jubayr passed by an ostrich lying on a dunghill, moving. He said, "What is this?" They said, "We fear that it is *waqidha* (fatally beaten)." He said, "You almost left it for the devil. Indeed, *waqidha* is only that which dies from being beaten."
حدثنا بن نمير عن أبي شهاب موسى بن نافع عن النعمان بن علي قال مر سعيد بن جبير على نعامة ملقاة على الكناسة تتحرك فقال ما هذه فقالوا نخاف أن تكون موقوذة فقال كدتم تدعوها للشيطان إنما الوقيذ ما مات في وقيذة
