Hadith 12:332
Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, from Nafi’, from Sadiqah, the freedwoman of Fakih ibn al-Mughirah, that she entered upon ‘Aishah and saw a spear placed in her house. She said, "O Mother of the Believers, what do you do with this?" She said, "We kill these geckos with it, for the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, informed us that when Ibrahim, the Friend of Allah, was thrown into the fire, there was no creature on earth that did not extinguish the fire for him, except for the gecko, for it used to blow upon it. So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded that it be killed."
حدثنا يونس بن محمد نا جرير بن حازم عن نافع عن صادقة مولاة لفاكه بن المغيرة انها دخلت على عائشة فرأت في بيتها رمحا موضوعا فقالت يا أم المؤمنين ما تصنعين بهذا قالت نقتل بها هذه الأوزاغ فإن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم اخبرنا أن إبراهيم خليل الله لما ألقي في النار لم تكن دابة في الأرض إلاأطفأت النار عنه غير الوزغ فإنه كان ينفخ عليه فأمر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بقتله
