Hadith 12:347
'Abdah narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father, from 'Aisha, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) commanded the killing of the *dhu al-tumas* (the one with the slit/blindness), for it snatches away the eyesight and causes miscarriage—meaning a wicked snake.
حدثنا عبدة عن هشام عن أبيه عن عائشة قالت أمر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بقتل ذي الطمس فإنه يلقس البصر ويصيب الحمل يعني حية خبيثة
