Hadith 12:69
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Sahl ibn Yusuf narrated to us, from Shu'bah, who said: I asked al-Hakam about a man who catches up to game while it still has a glimmer of life, and he leaves the dog until it kills it. He said: He shall not eat it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا سهل بن يوسف عن شعبة قال سألت الحكم عن الرجل يدرك الصيد وبه رمق فيدع الكلب حتى يقتله قال لا يأكل
