Hadith 12:77
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yahya bin Sa’id narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Nafi’, from Ibn ‘Umar, he said regarding birds: The falcons, the hawks, and others: whatever you catch its slaughter (i.e., you reach it while it is still alive and slaughter it), then it is for you. And whatever you do not catch its slaughter, then do not eat it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا يحيى بن سعيد عن بن جريج عن نافع عن بن عمر قال في الطير البزاة والصقور وغيرها وما أدركت ذكاته فهو لك وما لم تدرك ذكاته فلا تأكله
