Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 26:127

Jarir narrated to us, from Mansur, from Fudayl, from Ibrahim, who said: "Umar and Abdullah used to give the inheritance to the *dhawi al-arham* (distant relatives)." Fudayl said: "So I said to Ibrahim: 'And Ali?' He replied: 'He was the most intense of them in that—that he would give to the *dhawi al-arham*.'"
