Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, who said: I asked al-Sha'bi about the paternal aunt: Is she more entitled to the inheritance, or the brother's daughter? He said: He said to me, "And you do not know that?" I said, "The brother's daughter is more entitled than the paternal aunt." Abu Ishaq said: And 'Amir testified regarding Masruq that he said: "Place them in the positions of their fathers."
