Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 26:192

Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim, that Zayd used to divide [the inheritance] with the grandfather alongside the brothers, [giving him] what was between him and the third.
