Hadith 26:345

Jarir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Iyas ibn 'Abbas, from an elder of his people, that a brother of Abu Sulayman, who was called Rashid, drowned. The Banu Zubayd and the Banu Asad disputed over him, so they went up to Masruq. Masruq said to the Banu Asad, "Do you testify that he used to treat him with the same prohibitions as a brother treats his sister?" They testified to that, so he gave Abu Sulayman his inheritance.

حدثنا جرير عن الأعمش عن إياس بن عباس عن شيخ من قومه أن أبا سليمان غرق ( 1 ) أخ له يقال له راشد فاختصم فيه بنو زبيد وبنو أسد فارتفعوا إلى مسروق فقال مسروق لبني أسد أتشهدون أنه كان يحرم عنه ما يحرم الأخ من أخته فشهدوا بذلك فأعطى أبا سليمان ميراثه
