Waki’ narrated to us, he said: I heard Sufyan saying: If he joins the Abode of War, then returns before his inheritance is divided or the ruler emancipates his *umm al-walad* (slave-mothers) and his *mudabbar* (slaves promised freedom upon his death), then he is more entitled to them.
