Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Ibn Jurayj, from a man, from Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, who said: Women do not inherit from the *wala'* (patronage) except what they themselves have contracted for manumission (*mukātabah*) or what they themselves have emancipated.
