'Umar ibn Harun narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, who said: Women do not inherit from the *wala'* (patronage rights) except for what they themselves emancipated or for which they entered into a *kitabah* (manumission contract).
