Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 26:481

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated from a man whom he would not name, from Abu Salamah and Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib, regarding a man who enters into a *kitabah* (emancipation contract) with his slave, then dies and leaves behind children, both men and women. They both said: The wealth is [divided] among them according to their shares, and the *wala’* (right of inheritance/patronage) belongs to the men to the exclusion of the women.
