Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 26:486

Humaid narrated to us, from Hasan, from Firas, from al-Sha’bi, from Shurayh, regarding a woman who emancipated a man, then he died. He said: The *wala’* (right of inheritance/patronage) belongs to her children, and the *’aql* (blood money payment) is upon them. He said: And ‘Amir used to say: The *wala’* belongs to her children, and the *’aql* is upon them.
