Yahya ibn Azhar narrated to us, he said: Mandil narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Ibrahim, who said: Ali said regarding a woman who emancipates a man: The *wala’* (right of inheritance/patronage) belongs to her children and her children’s children, as long as there remains a male among them. If they become extinct, it returns to her *‘asaba* (agnatic heirs).
