Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 26:50

Abu Mu’awiyah narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Ibrahim, from Masruq, who said: He used to adopt the opinion of Abdullah [ibn Mas’ud] regarding sisters from a mother and father and brothers and sisters from a father, [where] he would assign what remained after the two-thirds to the males to the exclusion of the females. Then he went out on a journey to Medina. He said: So he returned, and he was of the view that he should make them partners [in the inheritance]. Alqamah said to him: "What turned you away from the opinion of Abdullah? Did you meet someone who is more firmly established in your soul than him?" He said: "No, but I met Zayd ibn Thabit and found him to be among those firmly rooted in knowledge."
