Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Mis’ar and Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Imran ibn Muslim ibn Riyāh al-Thaqafi, from ‘Abdullah ibn Ma’qil, from ‘Ali, who said: "Al-wala’ (the right of inheritance by patronage) is a branch of slavery. So whoever acquires the inheritance, acquires the wala’."
