'Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, from Khalid, from Abu Qilabah, that Yazid ibn Qatadah’s father died while he was a Christian, and Yazid was a Muslim, and he had Christian brothers. So, 'Umar did not make him an heir to him. Then Yazid’s mother died, and she was a Muslim, and his brothers accepted Islam after her death. They sought the inheritance, so they took the matter up to 'Uthman. He asked about that, and he made them heirs.
