Ibn Idris narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Ibrahim, who said: Umar and Abdullah used to grant inheritance to the maternal aunt and the paternal aunt if there was no one else besides them. Ibrahim said: They used to place the paternal aunt in the position of the father, and the maternal aunt in the position of the mother.
