Hadith 11:117
Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, Mis'ar narrated to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Yahya ibn Ja'dah, who said: Umar said: "Were it not for marching in the way of Allah, or laying my side upon the dust for the sake of Allah, or sitting with a people who pick out the best of speech just as the best of dates are picked out, I would have loved to have joined Allah."
حدثنا محمد بن بشر نا مسعر عن حبيب بن أبي ثابت عن يحيى بن جعدة قال قال عمر لولا أن أسير في سبيل الله أو أضع جنبي لله في التراب أو أجالس قوما يلتقطون طيب الكلام كما يلتقط طيب التمر لأحببت أن أكون قد لحقت بالله
