Hadith 11:12
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: They said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform us of a deed that equals Jihad in the way of Allah." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "You cannot endure it." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform us, for perhaps we can endure it." He said, "The likeness of the Mujahid in the way of Allah is like the one who fasts, stands in prayer, and is devout to the verses of Allah; he does not falter from fasting or charity until the Mujahid returns to his family."
حدثنا أبو معاوية عن سهيل بن أبي صالح عن أبيه عن أبي هريرة قال قالوا يا رسول الله اخبرنا بعمل يعدل الجهاد في سبيل الله قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لا تطيقونه قالوا يا رسول الله أخبرنا فلعلنا أن نطيقه قال مثل المجاهد في سبيل الله كمثل الصائم القائم القانت بآيات الله لا يفتر من صيام ولا صدقة حتى يرجع المجاهد إلى أهله
