Hadith 11:146
Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Yahya ibn Ayyub narrated to me, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, that Abd al-Rahman ibn Shumasa al-Mahri informed him, from Zayd ibn Thabit, who said: While we were around the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), compiling the Quran from parchment scraps, he said: "Glad tidings to Al-Sham." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, and why is that?" He said: "Because the angels of the Most Merciful spread their wings over it."
حدثنا يحيى بن إسحاق حدثني يحيى بن أيوب عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب أن عبد الرحمن بن شماسة المهري أخبره عن زيد بن ثابت قال بينما نحن حول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نؤلف القرآن من الرقاع إذ قال طوبى للشام قيل يا رسول الله ولماذا قال لأن ملائكة الرحمن باسطة أجنحتها عليها
