Hadith 11:147
Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, from al-Awza'i, from Hassan ibn Atiyyah, who said: Makhul and Ibn Zakariyya inclined toward Khalid ibn Ma'dan, and I inclined with them. So he narrated to us from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, who said: Jubayr said to me, "Come with us to Dhu Mikhmar," and he was a man from among the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. So I went with him, and Jubayr asked him about the truce. He said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: "The Romans will make a secure peace with you. You and they will fight an enemy, and you will be victorious, take spoils, and be safe. Then you will depart until you descend upon a meadow with mounds. A man from the people of Christianity will raise the cross and say, 'The cross has prevailed.' A man from the Muslims will become angry, rise up to him, and break it. At that, the Romans will commit treachery and gather for the great battle."
