Hadith 11:149
'Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqama, who said: We went on a military expedition to the land of the Byzantines, and Hudhayfah was with us, and a man from Quraysh was in command over us. He drank wine, so we wanted to carry out the prescribed punishment (hadd) upon him. Hudhayfah said: "Will you carry out the prescribed punishment upon your commander while you have drawn near to your enemy, so they will become greedy for you?" He (the commander) said: "I will certainly drink it, even if it is forbidden, and I will certainly drink it in spite of whoever objects."
