Hadith 11:173
Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Umays narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Jabr ibn Atik, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) visited him during his illness. A person from his family said, "We were hoping that his death would be martyrdom in the way of Allah." He (the Prophet) said, "Then the martyrs of my nation would be few. The one killed in the way of Allah is a martyr, the one who dies of a stomach ailment is a martyr, the one who dies of the plague is a martyr, the woman who dies while pregnant (or having a child) is a martyr, and the one who dies by burning, drowning, or pleurisy is a martyr," meaning an ulcer of the side.
حدثنا وكيع قال نا أبو العميس عن عبد الله بن جبر بن عتيك عن أبيه عن جده أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عاده في مرضه فقال قائل من أهله إنا كنا لنرجوا أن تكون وفاته قتل شهادة في سبيل الله فقال إن شهداء أمتي إذن لقليل القتيل في سبيل الله شهيد والمبطون شهيد والمطعون شهيد والمرأة تموت بجمع شهيد والحرق والغرق والجنوب شهيد يعني قرحة ذات الجنب
