Hadith 11:216
'Abd al-Rahim ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Zakariyya, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Bara' ibn 'Azib, who said: When this verse was revealed: "Not equal are those of the believers who sit [at home], other than those having a disability, and those who strive in the cause of Allah," the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Call Zayd for me, and let him bring me the tablet and the inkwell," or he said, "the shoulder blade." Then he said: "Write: 'Not equal are those of the believers who sit [at home].'" Ibn Umm Maktum, who was blind, said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you command me, for I am unable to strive?" Then Allah revealed regarding him: "...other than those having a disability."
حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن زكريا عن أبي إسحاق عن البراء بن عازب قال لما أنزلت هذه الآية @QB@ لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين غير أولي الضرر والمجاهدون في سبيل الله @QE@ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ادع لي زيدا وليجيئني باللوح والدواة أو قال بالكتف فقال اكتب @QB@ لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين @QE@ فقال بن أم مكتوم وكان ضرير البصر يا رسول الله بما تأمرني فإني لا أستطيع الجهاد فأنزل الله إليه @QB@ غير أولي الضرر @QE@ ( 1 )
