Hadith 11:221
Abu Usama narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Abu Ishaq, who said: Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl accepted Islam. He came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I will not leave a position I stood in to hinder [people] from the path of Allah, except that I will stand in its place twice in the path of Allah. And I will not leave an expenditure I spent to hinder [people] from the path of Allah, except that I will spend double of it in the path of Allah." When the day of Yarmouk arrived, he dismounted and fought a fierce battle, and he was killed. There were found on him more than seventy wounds, between stabs, shots, and strikes.
حدثنا أبو أسامة عن الأعمش عن أبي إسحاق قال أبي اسلم عكرمة بن أبي جهل فاتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال يا رسول الله والله لا أترك مقاما قمته ليصد به عن سبيل الله إلا قمت مثليه في سبيل الله ولا أترك نفقة أنفقتها ليصد بها عن سبيل الله [ إلا أنفقت ضعفها في سبيل الله ] فلما كان يوم اليرموك نزل فترجل فقاتل قتالا شديدا فقتل فوجد به بضعا وسبعين من بين طعنة ورمية وضربة
