Hadith 11:234
Waki’ narrated to us, from Isra’il, from Jabir, from ‘Amir, from ‘Ikrimah, al-Aswad, and Masruq: That they disliked the *ja’a’il* (hiring substitutes for military service), and that was regarding the military expedition.
