Hadith 11:248
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, [saying] Abd al-Rahman ibn Shurayh narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Samir al-Ru'ayni, that he heard Abu Ali al-Janbi, that he heard Abu Rayhanah saying: We went on a military expedition with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and a cold night befell us. I saw a man digging a hole, then entering it and placing his shield over it. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Who will guard us tonight?" A man from the Ansar said: "I." He said: "From whom are you?" So he stated his lineage to him, and he prayed for him with good. Then he said: "Who will guard us tonight?" I said: "I." He said: "And who are you?" I said: "Abu Rayhanah." He prayed for me with less than the prayer for the Ansari. Then he said: "The Fire is forbidden for three eyes: an eye that stayed awake in the way of Allah, and an eye that wept or shed tears out of fear of Allah, and..." Muhammad ibn Samir remained silent regarding the third one; he did not mention it.
حدثنا زيد بن الحباب نا عبد الرحمن بن شريح عن محمد بن سمير الرعيني أنه سمع أبا علي الجنبي أنه سمع أبا ريحانة يقول غزونا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فأصابنا برد ليلة فلقد رأيت الرجل يحفر الحفرة ثم يدخل فيها ويضع ترسه عليه فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من يحرسنا الليلة فقال رجل من الأنصار أنا فقال ممن أنت فانتسب له فدعا له بخير ثم قال من يحرسنا الليلة فقلت أنا فقال فمن أنت فقلت أبو ريحانة فدعا لي بدون دعاء الأنصاري ثم قال حرمت النار على ثلاثة أعين عين سهرت في سبيل الله وعين بكت أو دمعت من خشية الله وسكت محمد بن سمير عن الثالثة لم يذكرها
