Hadith 11:27
Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Musa Abu Ja’far al-Thaqafi, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja’d, from Sabra, from Abu Fakiha—and he was one of the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: "Indeed, Satan sat for the son of Adam on the paths. He sat for him on the path of Islam, and said: 'Will you become a Muslim and abandon your religion and the religion of your forefathers?' But he disobeyed him and became a Muslim. Then he sat for him on the path of Hijrah (migration), and said: 'Will you migrate and abandon your birthplace? You will be like a horse tethered to its stake.' But he disobeyed him and migrated. Then he sat for him on the path of Jihad, and said: 'Will you fight? You will be killed, your wife will be married, and your inheritance will be divided.' But he disobeyed him and fought." He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever does that, Allah has guaranteed him Paradise, whether he is killed, or dies by drowning, or by burning, or is eaten by a beast of prey."
