Hadith 11:52
Abu Usama narrated to us, Ismail bin Abi Khalid narrated to us, from Qais bin Abi Hazim, who said: I saw a man who wanted to sell his soul [i.e., sacrifice himself] on the day of Yarmouk, and his wife was imploring him. He said: "Turn her away from me. If I knew that what will befall me would befall her, I would not have been stingy with her. By Allah, if I am able, I will proceed, even if this were to move from its place"—and he pointed with his hand toward a mountain—"so if you overcome my body, then take it." Qais said: We passed by him, and I saw him after that; he had been killed in that battle.
