Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Shababa bin Sawwar narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b narrated to us, from Abu al-Mu'tamir bin 'Amr bin Rafi', from Ibn Khalda al-Ansari, who said: Abu Hurayrah was brought regarding a companion of ours who was afflicted by this debt—meaning he became bankrupt. He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) decreed regarding a man who died or became bankrupt that the owner of the goods is more entitled to his goods if he finds them, unless his companion leaves behind payment.
