Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 20:7

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Mushir narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, he said: We were sitting with Shurayh when a group of people came to him disputing before him regarding a life-grant (*‘umra*) that had been made for a man for his lifetime. He said to him: "It is his for his lifetime and his death." The one against whom the judgment was made turned to him, pleading with him. Shurayh said: "This man has blamed me regarding a matter that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, judged upon."
