Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:1019

Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, regarding [the verse]: "The fornicator does not marry except a fornicatress or a polytheist." He said: It used to be said that the verse which follows it abrogated it: "And marry the unmarried among you." He said: And it used to be said that it refers to the unmarried among the Muslims.
