Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from Ibn Sirin, who said: I was in a circle in which was Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla. He said: "The later of the two terms." I mentioned the hadith of Abdullah ibn Utbah regarding Subay'ah. He winked at some of his companions. I said: "I would be very bold against Abdullah ibn Utbah if I were to lie about him, while he is in the outskirts of Kufa."
