Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:1216

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, regarding the woman whose husband dies before he has specified a dowry for her and before he has consummated the marriage with her: She is entitled to the dowry of the women of her family. He narrates that from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. And she has the waiting period (‘iddah) of the one whose husband has died, and she has the inheritance.
