Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:1228

Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Humayd, from his mother, who said: The women of the people of Medina, when they intended to bring a bride to her husband, would begin with Aisha. They would bring her (the bride) in to her (Aisha), and she would place her hand upon her head, supplicate for her, and command her to fear Allah and (to observe) the right of the husband.
