Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:1308

Ya'la narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik, from 'Ata', regarding a man who married a woman based on his [the husband's] judgment, and he judged [the dowry to be] ten dirhams. He said: It is permissible. The Muslims used to marry for less than that and for more.
