Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:1343

Jarir narrated to us, from Mughira, from Ibrahim, regarding a man who married his slave woman for a specified dowry, then he emancipated her before he had sexual intercourse with her, and she was given the choice, so she chose herself. He said: The marriage is invalidated, and the dowry is returned to the husband.
