Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:1422

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Salim, from al-Sha'bi, who said: Any woman whose father gifted her to a man, or who gifted herself to a man, then she has the like of her [dowry] if he has consummated the marriage with her. And if not, then he is only obligated to provide the gift of consolation (mut'ah) if he divorces her before he has consummated the marriage with her.
