Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr, who said: Al-Zuhri arrived at the beginning of the caliphate of Hisham. He mentioned that ‘Urwah used to narrate from ‘Aishah that Abu al-Qu’ays came seeking permission to enter upon ‘Aishah, and the wife of his brother had breastfed her. She refused to give him permission. ‘Urwah claimed that ‘Aishah mentioned that to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he said: "Why did you not give him permission? For breastfeeding makes unlawful what birth makes unlawful." The people of Medina were alarmed by that, and ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Habibah, the freed slave of al-Zubayr, divorced his wife at that time.
