'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, who said regarding a man who performed *li'an* (oath of imprecation) and then called himself a liar: Regarding the waiting period (*'iddah*), he said: "When he performs *li'an*, that which is between them is severed."
