Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:1546

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-A’la narrated to us, from Khalid ibn Ayyub, from Mu’awiyah ibn Qurrah, from ‘A’idh ibn ‘Amr—a man from among the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he was among those who pledged allegiance under the tree—that a woman of his wives gave birth, and she saw the purity after twenty nights, so she performed ghusl. Then she came and entered into the quilt with him. He said, "Who is this?" She said, "So-and-so." He said, "Have you not given birth?" She said, "I have indeed seen the purity." He said, so he struck her with his foot until he cast her out from the quilt, and he said, "Do not isolate yourself from my religion until forty days have passed."
