Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:156

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, that he used to dislike marrying a slave woman as long as one was able to [marry] a free woman, unless one feared hardship (al-‘anat).
