Ibn Idris narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, from al-Sha’bi, who said: The burden of proof regarding the dowry (sadaq) lies upon the woman’s guardians. And upon the man’s family lies the burden of proof regarding the discharge (al-makhraj) of that.
