Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:1649

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hushaym narrated to us, from Khalid, from ‘Urwah, from Shurayh, that he said regarding a man to whom his wife gave a gift, and he claimed that he had not consummated the marriage with her, and she acknowledged that: He judged for her half of the dowry and obligated her to observe the waiting period (‘iddah). And he said: "I do not believe you against yourself, and I do not believe you for yourself."
